What causes this bacteria
It is usually contracted in childhood and can be passed from person to person.
It only grows in the stomach.
Drinking coffee, alcohol and smoking increase the risk.
What are the symptoms
If you are a carrier of Helicobacter pylori, you may have no symptoms.
If you have an ulcer or gastritis, you may have some of the following symptoms:
Abdominal pain, Bloating and fullness, Indigestion and or dyspepsia, Always hungry, Mild nausea, Vomiting.
Tests
A simple breath, blood or stool tests can determine if you are infected with this bacteria..If you have symptoms visit your doctor who will order the tests.
Complications
Stomach cancer.
Problems
Stomach bleeding, weight loss and or anemia.
Medications may include:
Two different antibiotics.
Medication to sooth, such as Nexium, Bismuth or other.
Antibiotic treatment must be taken for 10 to 14 days.
Importantly, have it investigated before it becomes chronic.
